Mole hills

Postby tigersteve » Wed Jun 24, 2015 12:29 pm

I look after a property near Comares in the winter but am currently looking after a lovely house and Gites in the Loire.
I just thought all you LUCKY people in Spain should remember that some of us still have to deal with these bl##dy things !!

Try the childrens windmills on a stick...........they don't like the vibrations...... :D

Are you sure that they are Moles ....

There is a very good chance that they are Mole Crickets .... and they can be dealt with comparatively straightforwardly .. google

Its a common mistake in Spain to us Brits, because we see the mole hill and assume

I've seen the molehills moving and growing, stuck the spade in but no avail !
They are too smart for me, luckily the weather is catching up with Espagne here so the little bleeders are staying deep down for now.......
I haven't see a live one yet, but a groundsman at a property I was looking after a few months ago caught several with traps, I was surprised how small they were, just like big black mice/voles.
I've got a friend in Brittany who uses small explosive charges ,which not surprisingly, are illegal in UK- you hear a little bang, see a small cloud of smoke and voilà ....... :D
