when to plant new citrus
Hello. Anybody any advice on what time of year to plant citrus saplings?
Re: when to plant new citrus
I am not an expert but do manage to grow good oranges and lemons at a fair height.
I suspect the wisdom is to plant in the Spring. That is when all the other fruit trees also appear for sale. I don't get that as they get stressed in my view by the long hot dry summer. I have just replaced a Lime (in a different position) and planted it early October. My thinking is that the roots can grow if we have a mild winter and again can get going before the stress of summer.

Thanks for the reply. The vivero certainly does say spring but expecting a new plant to make it through the long hot summer seems crazy to me. Thanks again Spike
