Hi
I am looking to buy one of these. My initial thought was to buy in the uk and bring it over when i drive back next month. Before doing so I would like to compare prices but am having difficulty sourcing a battery operated chainsaw in Spain from a retail shop. For example i have searched Sierras on Leroy Merlin and found no chainsaws - not even a petrol chainsaw.
Does anybody know where i can get prices and see the products. Not interested in anything other than battery operated because of the location of target branches.
Edit: Doh! Just searched motosierra and they do have a few. Any recommendations. I'm lopping small Yuccas.

Re: battery operated chainsaw
I have no experience of battery powered chain saws or of lopping yuccas but it sounds pretty good for that application.
Try Amazon.es . They have several models.

Not sure where you are in Spain but Cano at Rincon is worth a look.

Re: battery operated chainsaw
I have cut down many Yuccas over the last few years, up to 30cm in diameter. I use a "Kamikaze" hand saw I bought in Hermanos Jeromo in Velez Malaga. Cost about €14 and replacement blades are available. It is like cutting Butter!ashtondav wrote:Hi

Hi,
I'm with GerryinCadiz on this one leave the chain saws to the pros.
Kamikaze type saw with 3.8mtr extension if needed, for stuff that's in your pay grade..........

Re: battery operated chainsaw
If you are looking to cut small branches of 8cm or less, this hand held saw is brilliant. Very light and very sharp.
It is perfect for pruning palms. It comes with various blades, including one for metal. It's one of the most useful garden tools I have.

Re: battery operated chainsaw
OK, thanks for your views. I already have a pruning saw and a black and decker electric saw. Maybe its overkill to get a battery chainsaw as well.
So you've saved me a couple of hundred euros.
