I have a great long line of these along one border of the land. I usually attack with a combination of loppers and electric hedge cutter.
This time around I've allowed the trees to become more unruly than usual and the above method is not working at any great speed. The trees smaller branches are too strong for the hedge cutter and it takes ages to nip through the entire, tight, bundle and trunk(s) with the loppers.
I did try a chain saw but was extremely weary of kick-back dangers, which it tried to do a couple of times before I ceased the idea as a bad one.
Is there a better method or tool for the job?

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

Yes, I'd looked at that with interest.
