Pressure sprayers

Postby Lyric » Tue Dec 06, 2016 11:36 am

Am I doing something wrong. We seem to go through the hand held pump up garden spray things at quite a rate. The ones we have been using are the ones from Lidl which seem a step up on the Chinese items.
After a few months they stop pressurising and the problem always seems to be the washer inside the pump. I wonder if I am storing them correctly as I usually store them empty. Should I be storing them full of water to keep things moist. I am aware that I should not be storing them loaded as insecticide or weedkiller will deteriorate over time.
I have got the wife a rather upgraded model for Christmas and don't particularly want to see it go the same way.

If you store water in them they will clog up with organic residue eventually.
