What are these pupae on the wall?
These pupae have appeared in numbers, on the wall behind a planter on the terrace. Does anyone know what they are?

Gecko poo??
Re: What are these pupae on the wall?
Looks like Gecko poo to me too. We have some that like to lurk in the daytime in a plant pot or larger planter - they scuttle out looking rather shocked and miffed when it is time to water the plant-pot! And there can be a few bits of stickier poo which remains on the wall behind the pots - most of it just drops off to the patio floor as it dries. Keep watering and spray a bit of water about, and you may persuade the inmates to look for a new home where their poo won't be as obvious...
Love the geckos' nightly performances up on the patio walls and roof as they charm the bugs into stupor and then lap them up.

Pardon me but that's not Gecko. Gecko has a white blob on the end (the urine) I'll put up a photo when I find some, just on a break from Flat Pack assembly.

No, no. The white blob is so they don't bump into them in the dark.

Ours dont always have a white blob ... could the little patch soaking into the wall be the urine?
They dont look like pupae anyway
Anyone else got any ideas?

Thank you for your replies - I stand corrected! Clearly not pupae but are they really "gecko poo"? In 45 years of watching geckoes, including the last 20 years living in Andalucía, I have never seen this behaviour! I need to do a bit of research...

You have to wait an awful long time for a Gecko to poo, maybe.
They are also reticent little things, and prefer not to do it with an audience.

Agree with TdelA - you very rarely see them do their do's but find the little parcels next day ... often just one or two on a windowsill especially if they hide behind the roller blinds, or attached to a wall near a plant ...
By the way, we try to rattle the window blinds before letting the blind up or down, to give the little rascals chance to scuttle off - a squashed gecko stuck in the blind makes the most awful stink before the carcass finally rattles out - nasty!
