I can't get my speakers to work have switched over in audio but it's hit and miss so have only the headset which fine except I don't want to wear earphones all day, although the may be benefits.... Is there a visual notice when a call comes in?

Do you have a switch to change from speakers to headset or do you unplug the speakers and plug in the headset? It's best to have a switch then you don't run the risk of damaging the jack socket on the computer.

Check the speakers are working by plugging them into something else.

A pop up comes on the screen when you receive a call.

No switch Beachcomber, speakers go into the sockets and headset goes into a usb port. I never had this problem before I bought a logitech headset now I have to change the audio output. If there is a pop up there should be no problem providing I am at the machine.

Thanks.

The audio settings in Skype should be the sound card for your speakers (usually the first option) and USB Audio Device for the headset.

I had a USB headset but I changed back to the normal one as it caused me too many problems.

Hi mhic,
So if I read things right, you want all the sound to come out of the speakers and just use the mic for speach. :?:

So in Skype -> Tool->options -> Audio Settings ................set to speakers and save.

That's probable what Beach has said 8)
I currently use USB headphone/mic with no problems on Skype and default sound to speakers for other clips/CD's..
