[quote="pigs-might-fly"] This will not mess up your existing channels!

I hope this is not some wicked screw-up! I went through this process, carefully, saved the channel but then got asked for a PIN number, and now have no satellite signal!
Has everyone's gone off, or has this messed up my system?
Help!!

I am happily watching 8350, (out of the corner of my eye) - C4 as I type!
Furthermore I have used those exact parameters, again, to add channels and available are:-
E4+1
E4
More4+1
Film4+1
Film4
FFtest1
More4
8350
8389
EfiAd

I have stored all of them, using the yellow button, and pressed select when I have finished.
All are shown in "Other Channels" & available when selected!
No, it won't screw up your other channels if done as I suggested!

It has, I tell you - I have put a post about this on this section, in case there is a real expert who can advise, and also to warn others that there could be a problem!

Peter, the information given by Pigs is correct. It certainly shouldn't have had that affect on your box. Try a reboot by unplugging for a minute or so then plugging back in.

Got 4 now need 5

Postby towella » Wed May 14, 2008 1:22 pm

Thank you all for the advice. I initially telephoned the chap who installed the system and was told that there was no way the box I have (FTE max S300) would work and that I would have to buy a new box for about 200 euros. I asked him for the pin number and decided to give it a try myself using the parameters suggested - and guess what - yes I now have all the C4, E4 and More4 channels! Any suggestions for how I can get channel 5?
Thanks

I get Ch. Five and it's subsidiaries fine on my Pace.

There is another channel available for Five, listed as "FiveT2 Reg.2"

To find this you will have to follow the manual tuning instructions! :D :D :D

Set the Frequency to 12.304
The Polarisation to H.
Leave the FEC at 27.5 and the FEC at 2/3.
Do the search channels command and it should appear on your list.

I don't know if it will be any better than the Ch.5 which shows on the EPG, as I deleted all my unlisted Ch.5 variants when the reception of them improved following the technical adjustments made to the satellite transponders.

Might be worth a try. :!:

CH 5 still needs a card unlike E4 , More 4 and CH4 (the latter only when using the 10729 freq as mentioned on this thread)

Well I did a search, but channel 4 came up as one of the channels with a locked symbol so am unable to pick channel 4 up as yet, unless someone knows of a way to unlick it

Patricia - I've just deleted and rescanned 10729V 22000 5/6 and all 10 channels are definately free to air so don't understand that. Can you get E4 , More 4 and Film 4 (and the delayed versions) ? What box are you using , if as it sounds that it is not a Sky box then try deleting the entire transponder and rescanning it. CH4 still shows as 8350.

Ooops, Oh dear I hope you did not "unlick it" I am using Echostar so may be that is the reason. I have tried again but no luck, they all have the lock symbol. What is a transponder! I have tried search several times using different satellite dishes ie Astra 1, 2 and 2A as well as 3 but no luck, it must be the free to air box
