Sky no signal -Help

Postby Julie » Wed Jan 23, 2008 12:22 am

Hi

I have no signal on my boxes, I have four connected on a quad, I have tried the usual back up and resetting to 11778 or 12129, anyone got any other ideas, could it be the lnb is broken, i had it turned off for a week, but normally after a couple of attempts it ok, any help appreciated, I have been trying to look through past sky posting, but I keep getting cut off, good old telefonica.
All four cards have genuine UK addresses, they were not got here, so I cant understand it :(

Thanks

Process of elimination suggestion, do you have a friend or neighbour who also has a sky box?? Connect your box to their dish and see if that works, maybe it is your LNB.

points to consider.

you mention all cards have genuine addresses. you would still get ch 1, ch2 ch3 etc if the card was broken / removed.

the only thing that all 4 boxes have in comman is the lnb and dish.

if you can get to your dish, have a look at it, at the bracket - see if it has "moved" in the wind?

its HIGHLY unlikely that all four boxes have "gone" at once.

wheres la alcazba? call my boss if you want, he does re-aligning etc.

Thanks for the replys, I guess its the lnb, but i thought i would ask. The dish is solid, so I doubt its that, but i will try a lnb first.
Alcazaba is a little village on the coast on the border of Almeria and Granada.
Thanks :)

We had a problem once when rainwater got into the wiring at the lnb. Once it dried out all was ok again. There was quite a bit of rain a week or so ago, so maybe this has affected your reception?

I have a 1,5 prime focus dish which is set into the ground on a fairly large concrete slab. Every now and then I have to adjust the elevation of the dish because of the movement of the earth underneath the slab.

Also try the alternative default frequency of 12.050.
