Gus,
Can you give me an idea where that shop is, I live close to Lorca and I've never found anywhere that cheap before.

Thanks,
Ray
It used to be nice & simple until he moved around the corner !
Right, come off at Lorca Sur, the exit before the tunnels under castle. Slip road brings you down to a large roundabout , turn right here. ( He used to be in service road immediately on right )
Follow road along past all the car showrooms , past Fords & at the Cepsa petrol station on the left , turn left . Take the first right ( NOTE ; NOT the service road in front of Porcelanosa ! ) & it is either the third or fourth turning left. You'll see a sign on a big metal pole : They are the first shop down immediately on right & have a small car park before them . " Jesus Recambios" .
There is also another similar shop next door but one .

sorry master Rob...didn't read your post 'till just now
No problem. Thanks for the directions. Having read the other thread I'm a tad concerned that a useless DIY person like myself dare open the UPS for fear of a shock!

I didn't want to put anyone off doing it themselves but be careful not to touch anything other that the battery terminals. Also if the UPS has more than one battery take note of the way in which the old ones are connected before removing them.

Lots of information and advice here:

Thanks Gus, know how to get there. Problem is going there means a trip to Almenara centre for the better half.

Thanks very much for this. I'll probably have a go if only to take a peek inside! I actually bought two new ones while I was over in the UK last month (with the car to transport them) so not essential to have the old ones re-usable. That said, it's probably a good idea to have them in reserve.

I too could not find one locally for a reasonable price, most places wanting here €45+.
Fortunately I regularly place orders for bits 'n' bobs with RS Components ES (Amidata).€15 plus iva.
Product number 537-5488

Update: For anyone in this area, I was in Gamez's today and the batteries are back in stock, on the shelf where they usually are.
WHEN YOU GO INTO THE SHOP, THE GONDOLA OPPOSITE THE COUNTER AS YOU WALK IN, ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN on the right hand side, WAIST HIGH. ...at least a dozen of them this AM.
Still €17 ish.
