Google Chrome won't open

Yesterday I opened Chrome. It crashed. It continued to crash. I uninstalled it then attempted to reinstall it. It won't install. I get the message,

Your profile can not be used because it is from a newer version of Chrome.Some features may be unavailable. Please specify a different profile directory or use a newer version of Chrome.

I have no idea what this means. I am now using CoolNovo as it's more or less "Chrome".
I'd still like Chrome back though.

Hi Mowser,
Sounds like you left the Profile area behind when you uninstalled Chrome.

I use Revouninstaller to uninstall any programs, run CCleaner and reboot.

Similar procedure to Jake's...........

if you want to save the old profile area, if not just clean it out.
