Bentley-walker are just one of the many suppliers/ installers of a Tooway satellite system.

Cut and pasted from my suppliers website:-
Unlimited Usage between midnight and 7am on L, XL and XXL packages

The Tooway site itself doesn't quote the times.
Just directs me to suppliers in Spain for asking a question.

I will email my supplier.
Cheers

Yes, I've set up a task in task scheduler that runs at 1:00 AM.

firsttango
The off peak times are Midnight to 7:00 AM, not 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, or so it says on all the websites for Tooway that I have looked at.
Browsing, downloading and uploading are exactly the same in as much as they are using part of the 20 GB allowance.

I should have said "Simple" not "sophisticated"
Any, here it is:-

All this will take longer to read than to actually do.

Before scheduling a task click on the "BBC iPlayer Downloads" Icon and select "properties"
copy the highlighted address in the Target box.
Doing this will make a later action a lot easier.

How to schedule a task.

Click on the start button (bottom LH corner of your screen)
Enter "task scheduler" without the ""
Select "task scheduler" displayed under programs and select "Pin to Start" This will make it easier to find later.
Double click on "Task scheduler"
Double click on "Task Scheduler Library"
Double click on "Create Basic Task" (it's on the RH side)
give the task a name such as "BBC downloads" or whatever you want
click "next"
Leave "Daily" selected and click "next"
Set a time such as 01:00:00 leave other settings as they are and click "next"
leave "Start a program" selected and click "next"
Paste the address that you copied into the "Program/script" box and click "next"
Click "Finish"
You can now shut down "Task Scheduler"

You have now scheduled a task.

Selecting programmes.

When a programme becomes available, from BBC iPlayer website, you can select click download to select it.
This will open "BBC iPlayer Downloads" on your desktop, press "pause" to puase the download.
repeat for all the programmes you want to download.

You now need to end the "BBC iPlayer Downloads" task.
Clicking on the red cross will not end the task, it just closes the window.

To end the task right click in an empty part of the taskbar, (the area across the bottom of your screen) and select "Task Manager"
Click on "BBC iPlayer Downloads" and click on "End task"

That's it, all done.
Your downloads will continue downloading at the time you set when you scheduled the task.

Hope this all makes sense.
Cheers

Hi,
Do you Guys/Girls on BB4S have to do anything to get a UK IP Address.... :?:

For non- BB4S clients
For those on normal Spanish IPs you need to setup Expat Shield first. To get UK IP.

First line correction/pointer ::

"Before scheduling a task :!: RIGHT :!: click on the "BBC iPlayer Downloads" Icon and select "properties"

Many thanks Gerry for the write up..............

PS :: even I could follow it........... :D

Leave Laptop/PC on all night with power plugged in.............check you haven't got any Sleep type mode set in Power options......

Enjoy your viewing............... :D

You put put your laptop to sleep if you want to, but you will need to make a minor alteration to the task in task scheduler.
Go into "task scheduler", select "Task Scheduler Library" , select your task, select "Conditions" and tick "Wake the computer to run this task" then click "OK" and exit "task scheduler"
Your laptop will wake up at the set time and continue the downloads.
If you go into "power options" for your laptop and go into "Choose what closing the lid does" and set "When I close the lid" to "do nothing" and "save changes" then you can close the lid on your laptop and it will work OK.
I do this in case one of my cats decides to have a sleep or walk over the keyboard.

I'm still trying to come up with a way of putting the laptop back to sleep after all the downloads have finished.

Yes from their web site there is a button to click for three hours change of address. On installation I was told that a second selection would get another three hours i.e. six total, I have yet to make this work.

I had some issues with BB4S before the sat switch off - selected reading of my emails and responding to non queries being some of the problems. Now they don't respond to emails at all - even when I'm asking why my connection was down for several hours. Also been unable to reach them on the phone at all for 2 weeks (tried calling on 3 different days).

In addition, they appear to be actively blocking live tv streaming (can anyone watch live TV via BBC?). I always get a 'Content does not appear to be working' message, yet when I use my own VPN and not theirs it works perfectly. Also have issues watching youtube and other streams using their VPN yet not with a third party.

Incidentally, I noticed problems watching BBC iPlayer ever since the very weekend they launched their 20 euro TV package. Coincidence??

They seem to have sold too many subscriptions for the system they have, they're having to upgrade and have reduced the service, see the link I posted 9 days ago.

Not a very good business plan selling to more customers than you can supply!

We were with them for 2 years but we now have a cable connection with a 20 Mbps download speed, unlimited downloads,at a cost of 18€ per month,a considerable saving on their 29€ per month. The only downside is that we don't have BBC iplayer installed, but instead we have a smart dns, loads out there & some are free.

We left on Friday and we were watching live and catch up tv using their 2nd IP address and the browser of a LG smart tv. Has it got worse since then?

Using BB4S I stream and download overnight from the various players. I use SmartyDNS as I find I had less buffering than when I use the 2nd IP address. Last night we mixed Beeb 1 and Beeb 2 and both streamed ok but both had slight buffering, more on Beeb 2. We then had half an hour rest before streaming live from ITV. There is much less, almost no, buffering on ITV, subjectively I think this is down to slightly lower quality but I'm not sure.
Speed is usually around the 6Mb region.

One of the things I think is causing my buffering is the quality of video processor in my laptop and would hope that a purpose made box would be better. Not much to be done about the Laptop with on board graphic processor.

Those with a dedicated box and an "up to" 3Mb connection might like to comment specifically about buffering.

Live TV doesn't work for me. Do you pay any extras?
