TDT Compatibility

Postby Mike.M » Sun Apr 06, 2014 2:22 pm

Hi All,

I am looking for a TV with Digital Terrestrial (TDT) for Spain, and prefer the Samsung. I have to purchase about 8 of them and suspect they may be cheaper in the UK.

So the question is one of TDT Tuner compatibility given that the UK standards are DVB-T2 / C MHEG5, whilst Spain’s appear to be DVB-T / C HbbTV.

Am I shooting myself in the foot if I buy in UK and look to get the full functionality in Spain?

Any insight would be most welcome.

Regards,

Mike

Freeview digital terrestrial and the Spanish TDT are of the same DVB standard and are compatible

The systems are compatible, but some UK receivers may not be able to get CH69 and some receivers will not handle the dual language option that is available in Spain.
