Garrard turntable

I have brought a 1960s Garrard 3000 radiogram over from England to a house in Vejer but shortly after arrival the cartridge/pickup (probably the original one) stopped working. I have bought a modern cartridge and stylus which I was told would do the job, but am not technically up to installing it. I am also not convinced the two will 'marry' properly. Does anyone know of someone in the Cadiz area who could tell me what I need to do, and then carry out the work? I tried a shop in central Cadiz which sold old turntables etc but drew a blank there.
