Now there's a funny thing......

Postby Trooperman » Sun Jul 09, 2017 5:20 pm

I've just had installed, two ceiling fans/lights: one in each of two bedrooms: first floor, separated by a corridor and with the fans located about 10 metres apart behind closed wooden doors. Each unit has a remote control handset and, unfortunately, each handset has the annoying ability to get its signal to both bedrooms/fans.

Equally unfortunately, although the fans are slightly different, the two remote control switching systems - receiver and handset - are the same make of unit for both fans.

Any ideas on how to reduce the signal strength so that each handset only works in its own room? ......Is it an optical signal?......or some other means of making contact?....(if something's not mechanical I have a mental block on how it works!!!)

Do I just cover the end with some tape?
