Hi all,
I received this message earlier today so I've deleted my Outlook app, my Facebook app, transferred all my photos to my computer, cleared the cache and deleted all the google maps history and it's still saying the same message! It says I have used 7.95GB out of 8.00GB. I've hardly got anything on the phone. The only apps now are Messenger, Whatsapp and the ones which came pre-installed on the phone. I have no photos, I have 2 videos which I am trying to send to someone via messenger to get rid of them. I don't know what else I can do - HELP!!!

Can you add more by using a memory card?
The best way to store photos is using Google photos which basically stores them on the cloud and gives you access to them on any device.

Thanks Mark, I've transferred all the photos onto my laptop. Forgot to add that I have also deleted all my Whatsapp chats and most of my messages on Messenger but nothing seems to be making a difference.

Hi KarenD,
Have you shutdown the phone and rebooted...........
Have you cleared down the Downloads folder.......?
What version of the Android OS are you running.....
And Model of LG phone...........
There is a small app that can show you where the space is being taken up.............I've not used it as my version(Android 7) can display
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... sage&hl=en
ADDED: Just had a play with above.......gives a more detailed breakdown of where the "data" is hiding ..........

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.
Re: LG phone - storage space running out
A hard reboot will clear it I think.

Hi
Thanks all for your replies. I will check on which model and which version of Android. The thing that seems to be taking a lot of space is system data at 4.28GB. My apps are now only 1.89. I am now on 7.17GB out of the limit of 8GB. I got it down from 7.95 by deleting everything I could think of. It's really annoying as I know other people have games, music and all sorts of fancy apps and I've had to delete my Outlook (which I could really do with) and Facebook so I only have Whatsapp and Messenger (plus the Orange apps you can't get rid of)

Re: LG phone - storage space running out
Wouldn't a hard reboot clear all my contacts etc costakid?
Re: LG phone - storage space running out
If you have your contacts saved to your gmail account if doing a hard reset takes you back to factory settings? Then when you sign back into google all your contacts will be there as before
Re: LG phone - storage space running out
No, When i say hard reboot I mean a complete turn off and shut down, not a factory settings reset. Take the battery out or if you can't remove battery do a shut down. Its the same thing.
