Sky news

Postby costakid » Fri Dec 29, 2017 7:00 pm

Has anyone else had problems with Sky news through the old sat dish system? Ours is cutting in and out a lot the last few days. This is the only channel that we watch through the old 1.3 meter dish so if its our system I will rip it all out as its not worth spending any money just for sky news.

For us Sky News is strongest channel and never even breaks up during bad weather which i understand is common and we are still using a 1.3 dish but with an Openbox receiver which is actually not as good as a sky box . Might be your dish needs re aligning or tweaking a bit or possibly your LNB needs replacing , if you can i would suggest checking the strength of the input to the box .

We watch a number of the few remaining channels on our very old Sky box and they've all been OK over the last few days. Maybe your dish has moved a little in the winds we've just had?

Today with no wind the picture is perfect. It must be the wind.

Classic fm still on the old Astra (Sky) satellite.
For us, it's in Non-Freesat mode, where channel numbers vary (for us 5613 on one Humax, 5183 on another).
