DNS SMART DNS
DNS SMART DNS
I have signed up with Smart DNS but I cannot watch any programs. I have had a technician come on on team view and he couldnt make it work either. Anyway since then I have have not had any reply from Smart DNS to emails I have sent and I have no idea how to make it work. They say their is a leakage - whatever that means! -
Anyone else had problems with Smart DNS!

Re: DNS SMART DNS
We have been unable to google/access smartdnsproxy.com (and thus sign in) for the past 48 hours.
It seems access to their site is (for us) blocked at the moment.
I have had an on-line conversation with them this afternoon, and am now talking with our ISP.
Up until not being able to reach their site (via any of our devices), everything with them worked fine.
Upordown, etc. reports site is acccessible, so 'us not them'.
Try a straight google of their address <smartdnsproxy.com>.
Your problem may be different, of course.

Re: DNS SMART DNS
All working fine for me. No issues at all. Maybe your individual ISP has blocked and black listed them for some reason. But all running as it should via Movistar

Re: DNS SMART DNS
Problem now solved. Oddly, the Fobos roof antenna needed a re-start. This makes no sense, as only the one site was affected.

Folks fro Smartdnsproxy just posted this on FB:-

Re: DNS SMART DNS
Hi John EDIT: Bob (oops)
Thanks for posting that. Our web access to their site fell over again today; error message makes it look as if they are changing their web address to solve it.
Found the FB statement - thanks.
An earlier statement says that web access has stopped working "from some countries".

Re: DNS SMART DNS
Hi,
Had a look at Patricia's SmartDNSproxy setup but still getting an error
With account logged in ......"DNS is not configured properly"
Using the Setup instructions and using the DNS settings provided there, gives the above error.
The Public IP is Validated on the SmartDNSproxy site.
I would like to know what DNS settings that you have working.
Thanks

Re: DNS SMART DNS
Was the router re-started after the specified DNS addresses were added, and saved, with DHCP Server set to Enable ?
A DNS address is given on the site for Spain (which I used for Primary), but I used Germany's for 'next nearest country' (for Secondary: 54.93.173.153).
I had to play with our settings yesterday, and just followed the instructions for our system (Win7 PC + TPLink router in our case); it all worked ok.

Re: DNS SMART DNS
Hi Enrique,
Yes, and also here (just following their instructions):
https://www.smartdnsproxy.com/Setup
Choose device, hit Setup
Follow instructions.
I did it for our Win7 PC, which is wired connected to the router.
Hasn't been necessary for iPads etc, which are wirelessly fed off the router.
Did originally put the two DNS addresses into our FireTV boxes, which are also wired from the router.
My understanding is that once placed on the router, all devices fed from it will be serviced.

Re: DNS SMART DNS
I agree with that. The router DNS setting override the device settings.
