If i have a apple t.v box(registared to a family memeber in the U.K) which has the sky sports app preinstalled on it would i need a VPN to be able to access it ontop of paying a subscription

Use a Smart DNS in your router. The Sky Sports sub is expensive - £33 a month.

If you put Kodi on your Apple tv box be careful. I had one and somehow Apple sent a signal and jammed the box. I am now using it as a door stop.

Thanks sid I thought that would be the case.re a vpn etc and certainly not an option if thats the monthly cost for it.

It can be useful for a one off event - something like a world cup final or a 4 day test match. They offer a weekly pass for 12.99 and a day pass for 7.99.

Particularly good value during a weekend where there is formula 1 and a couple of football matches or other major sporting event within a 24 hours period and the suggestion is often made to share costs between friends.
If someone in the UK watches the channel using the same account then it might not be necessary to have to use a Smart DNS or VPN.
