The i907 sat transmits BBC etc but is encoded so you have to enter the codes to allow viewing. So, the receiver need to be capable of receiving the different frequency, but also needs a firmware upgrade to allow you to put in the BISS codes to unlock it.

You cannot buy a modified receiver online, but there are many suppliers on the CDS who will provide and instal one. Typically about €200 if you realign your old Sky dish, or about €300 if you need a new 80cm dish. No Internet required and no monthly subscription.

It’s worth buying the modified Vu+ Zero box as it has great recording facilities. Possibly slightly more expensive but well worth the extra cost. See other threads.
