PAYG Orange Sim
I bought a new PAYG Spanish SIM from Orange 2 weeks ago and they fitted it in the local Orange shop and it cost 20 euros. A few days later I dialled the *111# to check the balance which showed €20. Since then I have not had the need to use the phone and have made and received ZERO calls and just today checked the balance which is now €14. I am at a loss to see where the €6 has gone.......am I missing something obvious any thoughts??

Re: PAYG Orange Sim
I had the same problem with Movistar. Turned out to be my apps checking for up-dates.
I've got a brick phone now so it can't happen. Who really needs internet in a phone anyway?

Re: PAYG Orange Sim
Not as far as I'm aware. The phone is the NOKIA 3310 and has never ever been connected to the internet. In fact not been used in any way apart from having the Spanish Sim fitted, no incoming or outgoing calls at all. Just odd to use exactly 6€ on nothing that I can see in just 10 daysmarkwilding wrote:Is it using data?

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.
Re: PAYG Orange Sim
Yeah set up an account or ring them and they will tell you what costing you €.have you checked and made sure that data is turned off on your phone. Not roaming. Just normal data as i cant really think of what else it could be
Re: PAYG Orange Sim
Easiest to go online and look. (Vodafone only ever credit me with 4.13€ when I recharge with 5€ and I always wonder where the rest goes!)

Re: PAYG Orange Sim
IVA.
€4,13 + 21% IVA = €5
€4,13 + 21% IVA = €5
Re: PAYG Orange Sim
No other provider takes off the IVA though (I'm also with Virgin and Orange), although that does add up .... a bit of a swizz

Re: PAYG Orange Sim
All sorted thanks all.
Went online registered account, went into account which showed that the balance was as I quoted above but showed that NO calls had been made and NO Data had been used, so no explanation could be seen from there. Went to Orange shop who looked ands could only see what I could see. They then rang Vodaphone in English customer support for me and I explained to them the problem....they looked and said it was their error and recredited the account to 20 euros and added another 5 euros for my troubles. So all now good.

Re: PAYG Orange Sim
Odd that as I used to have a UK orange PAYG sim and I'm pretty sure credit disappeared even when the phone was mostly turned off as it was only used when we went back to the UK. Swapped it for a three sim and credit doesn't vanish anymore
