Microsoft Solitaire Collection Background Full Screen Pop-up Adverts

Postby pensure1988 » Thu Nov 14, 2019 9:35 pm

Can anyone advise me to find a solution to this Problem.

Whenever I am playing this Microsoft Solitaire Collection, sometimes these Full Screen adverts appear instead of the Game, I am busy playing. Sometimes it is Casino Game or another Game which the Owner wishes me to Install on my Laptop. Other times it is Video Spanish Car Adverts that play. I have also noticed these video Car adverts on the El Tiempo Weather Website recently. I do have a Bet Blocker installed on my Laptop, but it makes no difference when I am using the Microsoft Solitaire Collection. I have Ghostery installed which supposedly blocks pop-ups on Firefox,my Browser.

Thank You

David

Hi Enrique

I have disabled Ghostery but am unable to disable BetBlocker for another 904 days. I am still getting the full page adverts when running my Microsoft Software Collection. 1) Do I have to tweek the settings in the Firefox Add-on " Ublock Origin. 2) Should I install the other Add-ons in Firefox such as "AdBlocker Ultimate & "Privacy Badger" as well.

Thank You

David

Good morning pensure1988,

Go to Settings -> Privacy -> General -> Change privacy options -> Turn them all Off... I have all mine Off

If you really want some of these on just turn the "Let apps use advertising........" Off

You only really need one Add-Blocker ............ I use uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger...........you may need to Disable these temporary when Ordering stuff on-line.

Hi,
Right click on the bottom system bar , click on Task Settings then home , then Privacy

OR you could just type Settings in the Search Box

Hi Enrique

I have done all which you have suggested.

I have just gone back into my "Microsoft Solitaire Collection" and then clicked on "Pyramid" which loads and then immediately goes into a " Casino Advertisement". What other advice have you for me. I have run "Malwarebytes" and "Superantispyware" and everything seems fine. Maybe something has got into my "Registery" which is causing these adverts to appear.

Thank You

David

Hi pensure1988,
Now you have mastered Settings.......... Settings -> Personalisation -> Start and turn off "Show suggestions occasionally in Start"

In Firefox Options -> Privacy and Security -> Look in Permissions and see if Block pop-up Windows is Checked

That did not work either!!!!

Did a search in Google and found this solution. It works like a dream. May help other Forum users as well.

"

To remove ads from Start menu, do the following:

Open Settings.
Click on Personalization.
Click on Start.

Turn off the Occasionally show suggestions in Start toggle switch.

To remove ads from the Lock screen, do the following:

Open Settings.
Click on Personalization.
Click on Lock screen.
In the Background drop-down menu, select Picture or Slideshow.

Turn off the Get fun facts, tips, and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen toggle switch."

Thanks for all your help and assistance in this matter , Enrique

Hi David,
Thanks for the update........good you got sorted, saved me rolling the Games on to a test system to have a closer look.

I tend to suggest one tweak at a time when trouble shooting so you then know what fixed it............

As they say Google is your friend........... :D
