I don't watch much TV, but now without it, I am finding that I really would like to be able to watch it occasionally. I don't want to pay out for a huge unsightly dish on the side of the house.
Has anyone used any of these companies that advertise UK TV on the net through your PC? - Any recommendations? - Is the quality any good? We've got ADSL so streaming shouldn't be a problem (is that the right technical word?)
I searched on the net, but came up with a load of sports & US channels!
Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

TV via the Internet is (at the moment) of very low quality. It is very difficult to find a TV feed that runs at more than 500kb/s and that really gives very poor quality. The majority run at around 256kb/s which is about as good as a very poor webcam.
There are 1000's of channels available but most of them are rubbish.
Have a look at http://tv4all.com/portal.htm to see what is available.
You can usually play them on Windows Media Player.
There are some programs available that suggest that you can use your PC as a TV but they are just chargeable versions of normal free media players and are essentially a con.
