Bike on the back of car......... Help please.

Postby scotty » Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:51 pm

My mate wants to bring his bike to spain. He has a bike carrier that hangs off the back of the car. Any problems with us ?

Not that I am aware of providing the lights, number plate are visible and there is one of the red/ white diagonal striped boards attached to the furthest point from the vehicle.

I've seen plenty of things extending beyond the rear of the vehicle without a red/ white striped board.
You will probably be OK, but you never know.

I did see the Guardia stopping a Spanish plated car before for not having the correct frame /license plate showing etc.

However the chances of getting stopped are probably slim....it´s up to him. Personally I would get it right(I too have experience of being stopped by the Guardia and not having the correct paperwork) - wouldn´t want to go through it again.

Well they have started the roadworks, which have already been going on for some time now....as to when they will finish God only knows. Traffic isn´t to bad considering - but then again I ride a bike so traffic is rarely a problem anyway.
