Brake pads

Postby Campo Steve » Sat Oct 02, 2010 7:34 am

Any suggestions as to the best place to buy front disc pads for a Ford Focus in the Velez Malaga area?

Hi Campo Steve,

http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=h ... c0029df58a

My recommendation for brake parts is always buy from the Manufacture.
Every has been telling me over the years that Ford parts are cheap as chips. :?:

If not then make sure they are a Branded name..........Ferodo, Tarox,TRW...etc

Check out your discs .....make sure they are still in spec........These days I find a set of pads lasts the same as the discs so I change the lot. Your driving style will be different and you may find a disc will last several pad changes.

Blimey, I am glad I don't have to change my discs everytime I change my pads, that must be an expensive do :(

Hi Julie,
When you're getting 70,000 miles from a set of pads and discs not a bad service life.

Job done. A straight forward job, once you realise that it is a 7mm Allen Key that is required and that size isn't standard.

Eurocarparts are superb for stuff like this and they ship (reasonable costs) here too. Considerably cheaper than trying to buy anything here especially for stuff like brake pads and discs/service items. I was quoted 70€ for some dodgy pattern-part pads for my 206GTI and ECP were only 28UKP for Pagids

If comparing Pagid for Pagid make sure they're the same types.. proper performance Pagids (ie RS4-2, 14s) would be up round the 100 quid mark I'd expect!
