Notification of Traffic Fines

Postby Beachcomber » Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:40 am

You can now register for the notification of traffic fines by email and SMS, as well as other services, directly via the DGT web site:

https://sede.dgt.gob.es/sede/faces/pagi ... ndex.xhtml

I'm not sure if this takes the place of the Correos system or will run alongside it. Anyway if you already have a digital certificate it is easy to register for the new system.

I believe that registration is imperative for anyone who does not have a proper postal delivery as fines and surcharges can mount up if you do not respond to written registered communications whether or not you sign for them.

You need to check the configuration of your browser:

https://notificaciones.060.es/PCPublic_ ... tesAcceder

http://www.cert.fnmt.es/index.php?cha=c ... 34&lang=es

If you use Firefox and can't get it to work try with IE.

I just did ours. One on Firefox and the other on Chrome.

No problems and I got confirmation by SMS and email immediately.

If he is then there are some problems with IE7/8 with Vista

You have to set up the security etc in a rather complicated way.

I'm puzzled, why would you want to set this up if you don't break the law? :?

Obviously you have yet to discover that you do not need to have broken the law to get a traffic fine. :?

How do you know that you haven't driven through a radar trap at a few kph over the limit?

Mainly because we tend to keep under the limit!

You might attempt to but the radar traps are in 80kph areas where the limit suddenly reduces from 120kph without much notice!

indeed. the one before casabermeja - inbetween the 2nd and third tunnel is in an 80 limit section, where you can see a 120 limit sign about 50 metres further on. so it tells you you can speed up after the sign, but everyone seems to drive thru the tunnels at 120-140 anyways.

must be fun in the slow lane all the time. :silent:

The first communication is usually a request for the identification of the driver of the vehicle. There is a separate fine for not responding to this request as well as the fine for the actual offence that was committed (or which they claim was committed).

You could try here:

http://www.buscamultas.com/

but there is no guarantee that that the absence of any entry in respect of your vehicle means that you have no fines outstanding. You could also check your provincial bulletin.
