Dumper Wanted

Postby country boy » Fri Feb 25, 2011 3:24 pm

Mrs CB and I have decided that a 15cwt dumper is just what we need around the finca to use as a large powered wheelbarrow....question is...where do you go to buy a cheap second hand one? Anybody seen them advertised or seen a second hand plant place on their travels? Malaga area preferred.

Countryboy this is a serious question what would you pay for a good used one, I don't have one but I know that a consignment of ex army stuff is coming up for auction soon if I could get one for you and some customers for some other stuff it might be worth bringing one for you, I deal in that kind of stuff sometimes.

Bowler

Put me down for a Humvee. Just the ticket for driving round the old town of Frigiliana.

We were thinking we ought to get something half decent for a couple of grand. We only want a bog standard, forward tipping, 4x4 if poss, max 2 tonnes. I used to run some Winget one tonne jobs years ago, one of those would be perfect.

If I am unable to sort this one for you (and it's all about profit) keep your eye on www.mod-sales .com Withams specialist, they buy and sell ex army stuff.
Last year I got some good stuff for from them, as I mentioned earlier if I can make it profitable to bring a a load to Spain I will, otherwise you have your link, they often have dumpers etc that have been returned from Iraq for example, cheers Bowler.

PS I don't suppose a leyland 4 x 4 tipper truck would do the job eh !

I've never seen the words,'cheap' & 'second-hand' in the same sentence on my Spanish travels.
The equivalent to this , http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/lister-one-1-ton- ... 27b8d043b6 ,starts at 3000€ around here.

I can get you an ex military Humvee if you want one, though I can tell you they're not a patch on a good Landrover 110 or better still a 130.

If you head north on the A45 from Malaga towards Cordoba and come off at Caserbermeja (15 minutes from Malaga) there is a place there with about 50 second hand dumpers for sale, you can't miss it, you'll see the dumpers from the autovia. I don't know what the prices are like but it could be worth a look.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for that Terry, I'll program that in and will let you know.

Bowler As an ex Royal Armoured Corps wallah I likes Big Boy's Toys but I never did like anything Leyland so I'll pass on that one if I may. A mark 13 Centurion AFV now...well that could be interesting :)

Bowler, I was serving when the 432 was given to those Infantry types for the first time, they reckoned it was to save them walking everywhere. I mean...surely that's what Infantry are meant to do isn't it?
Not a bad toy though.

That's a fine looking truck Beachcomber, but then you would need a "Le Tourneau 1-2350" to load it, unfortunately I'm not clever enough with a computer to retrieve and repost an image of one, maybe you could do the honours !
