Opening bonnet of a Ford?

Postby karandjon » Sat Apr 23, 2011 9:50 pm

I wonder if anyone can help me....i have a Ford Focus Estate where to open the bonnet, you insert the key under the badge.

i did this yesterday as the window wash needed topping up. however, on inserting the key and turning it...a 6 inch plastic bit came out with it, but leaving the bonnet still locked!

has anyone experienced this or know how it could be fixed, or do i have to take it into the garage to get it looked at?

many thanks for any info

I know Peter. I couldn have done with it today to keep that sun outta my eyes! (yes i know it should be 'out of' )

enrique - nothing worked so i took it to our Nissan garage (our Ford one is a right rip off). it took them 45 minutes to get it up on the ramp, and get underneath and unscrew some stuff to be able to pop the bonnet to at least fill my screen wash for me. they have ordered a new plastic part and i am taking it back wednesday morning to be fitted. i'll have a 2nd key for the bonnet lock, but that is no hardship. Thanks for your help though.
