ITV on line booking

Second ITV due in two weeks, first was for matriculation. Go to web page, thinks this looks simple enough, however over the weekend it tells me the matricula and the bastidor don't match.
Now I've had trouble with official web sites "out of hours" before so I wait.
This morning it isn't asking for the bastidor it's asking for the date of matriculation.
The little help screen tells me it wants the date in B on my Permiso de Circulation which is the date of first registration in the UK.
Wrong, numbers don't match.
So I enter the date of first ITV, wrong, dates don't match.
So I enter the date of matriculation, wrong, dates don't match.
I am seeking best course of action,my Spanish is not up to the telephone, it's barely up to Mercadonna !
Will it be of any use going to my local center (algarabbo). It's only a few minutes away.

call them, they only ask the reg number and where you want to go.

then they will tell you availibility to which you pick one.

I have the same problem with a rematriculated car.

You could try Algorrobo centre but they may just direct you to a phone on the desk.

However, if you ask nicely they may arrange it for you.

I was going to say it is easy on the phone, it is for me now, but before my Spanish picked up I thought I found it easy, only to turn up at the wrong time.

Take all your paperwork with you, including insurance that they may or may not ask for. Never know, they might agree to do it there and then. Then again, they may not.

It's not giving me that option today but I had read the other thread so yes I tried everything I could think of and it just won't play.
Car was re-matriculated in Malaga and it's first ITV was at Algarrobo. When I have some money later this week I'll wander along to the ITV and see what can be done. I have found them very helpful in the past with the red light issue and a query about the black tinted glass so I'll just go along and ad lib !

You can keep on refreshing the page until the option to enter the bastidor appears. You only have to enter the last six digits of the number

Beachcomber, when I enter just the Bastidor it asks me to enter the fecha de matriculation when I do it says they don't match. I give up.

But it only asks for either the bastidor or the date of registration depending on which page comes up not both. So you enter the registration number and the bastidor or the fecha de matriculación. Do you mean that the registration number and the bastidor do not match

Sorry yes reg and Bastidor (Spanish is bad and from memory non - existent)

Phoned today for appointment. First person I spoke to only spoke Spanish. Although my Spanish is improving it isn't up to someone speaking at a thousand words per minute. Rang off and tried again half an hour later, hoping she would be on her coffee break.

Success. Different person. As soon as I started speaking Spanish she recognised I wasn't a native and replied in English. Not perfect, bit of both languages required on both sides, but we got there.

Just remains to see, when I turn up for the appointment, if I got it right.

When phoning they only require the reg number. No matriculation date or bastidor required.

Don't know if it has been mentioned elsewhere but Algorrobo, at least, accept card payment. My man only gave the tyres a cursory glance and it was the one that I had concerns about, no problem !

Hi ,
Had numerous attempt to book on-line the other day..........finally did it...put it down to using Firefox 4 and IE9...........put in right info and it would repeat page. Previous time (booking) on IE8 no problems.

Enrique, at what point did it get stuck? I have just tried with Firefox 4 and I got as far as the option to select a date and time when I abandoned the attempt as I do not actually need a test at the moment.

It was at various places .....just had a go now and it sails through using Firefox 4, so guess it was a bad day for the site.
