A New Bill about cars?????????

Out of the blue I've received a bill from the Oficina de Recaudacion. It is entitled REQUERIMIENTO DE PAGO PREVIO AL EMBARGO DE BIENES. At the bottom of the page it states. BIEN MUEBLE MATRICULA and then states the registration number.

Everything on the car is legal, tax, insurance and ITV is and always has been paid before the due date. It is not for a speeding or parking offence or any other offence that I am aware of.

Does anybody know what this is about please?

Thanks for the reply DA but that is not the case. I bought the car new in 2001 and I've always kept taxes etc up to date.

Sounds like an unpaid speeding fine to me. Sometimes the original paperwork can arrive 12 months after the offence, or sometimes not at all !!

Check it out quickly TerryC. We received a bill from the Agencia Tributaria for 120 euros about a year ago. Paid it but were unable to discover what it was!! 2 weeks ago we received another 1 this time for 980 euros!! We went to a solicitor who found out it was a fine for not informing Trafico who was driving when the car was caught speeding!!! A bit difficult to inform them when they didn't inform us of the alledged crime!!

I cannot see how you check on this site, or how you register to receive the fine via email. It just seems to give information about the system, but not a page to register ... or am I missing something?

I cannot see how you check on this site, or how you register to receive the fine via email. It just seems to give information about the system, but not a page to register ... or am I missing something?

Hello, thanks for all your messages. In the end I went to the local Oficina de Recaudacion. It turns out this invoice was for an unpaid medical bill for primary care at the local medical centre from 2010 when my mother was here and had an accident. Her insurance company was supposed to have paid this last year. I've contacted them and have received assurances that it will now be paid. The due date is 12 march, so we will see. The reason I thought it was for my car was a threat to embargo my car, its registration number was mentioned on the invoice. Strange things happen here in Spain.

There's the Malaga bulletin site, commonly known as 'BOP Malaga' - not sure if it covers all the Hacienda areas, but certianly IBI (we were on it )

Do a search on here for BOP Malaga, and you should find info on how to search that site etc

What format do I enter my NIE number in?
Entered it as AnnnnnnnA format, using my actual NIE number in that format, selected the NIF/CIF option and it came up with "no data for specified search.."
But I also entered AnnnnnnnA which is obviously an incorrect number and it came up with the same message.

I get the message 'No existen resultados para la búsqueda especificada. Introduzca otros criterios para realizar una nueva búsqueda' when I do a search. I assume this to mean that there is nothing outstanding or pending.

Unfortunately you can never be sure that these sites are working properly. The only sure way is to register for electronic notifications.

I've entered totally ridiculous NIE numbers and got the same message.
