Does anyone know the law in Spain relating to bike racks on the back of cars?
Obviously there is a need to have a Reg number on view but are the red/white stripe boards compulsory too? Any other rules?

and according to the N332 (Spanish Police) website:
“Can you advise if there is a limit to the number of bicycles you can carry on a rack located on the back of your car?”
The load can protrude depending on if you can divide it or not between a 10% (divisible) or 15% (when the load is unable to be indivisible or separated).
A bicycle is considered divisible load so depending on the length of you car, you can carry 1, 2, 3 or 4 bicycles.
