Driving Licence
Myself and my wife have just moved full time to Spain and we are applying for residency, I was wondering if we needed to get Spanish driving licences.

Re: Driving Licence
The answer to that is yes or no depending on a number of factors.
I think you will find that most members of this forum who are resident will recommend that you do the exchange. There are virtually no good reasons to retain a UK licence and many advantages of having a Spanish licence, not least of which is that it is accepted as valid ID in almost every situation.

Re: Driving Licence
Its a pretty confusing issue due to the police interpretating the laws as they wish. As cid says if you are making the move then i would just change it. Theres been lots of problems with police handing out fines for not having a spanish licence when legally you dont need to change. imo its not worth the worry of getting pulled over and wandering whats going to happen
