Hi
About to buy a used car in the next few days. Do you decide which car and insure or can you drive away and then insure. Logic says the latter? Or maybe you can call whilst at the dealer?
Linea Directa seems to get good press on here?
Which way round is the process?

Of course you cannot drive away and insure later.
You must sort out the insurance before you drive. Driving without insurance is now a criminal offence.
Talk to LD before you take the car and they will email a cover note to the dealer.

Some dealers can sell you 7 days cover to get you on your way.

If you are changing cars then your current insurer should do the changeover over the phone. If your first car then as Sid says, set it up with Linea Directa then action it at the dealers.
