Importing a German Audi A3
Thinking about importing an Audi 3 from Germany. The emissions are only 103g so am I correct in thinking that with a European conformity certificate, I could get it onto Spanish plates with only Gestors fees to pay? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hola
Assuming tyres (European), head & rear lights are OK then about 600 euros - subtract 90 if you have a European certificate of conformity.

Dxf, thanks for that. Am I correct in assuming this would include Gestor and ITV costs?

Hola
Not Gestor / Cert of Conformity or ficha technical reducida 100€
ITV test 120€
Ayuntamiento for car tax - allow 250€
Trafico 100€
plates 30€

Make sure you get all the German papers. German finance companies keep a part of the logbook if the car is on finance. If you have all parts its clear of debt.

Hola
If the car has not been yours for a year then there is an additional first registration tax (commonly called import tax) - you are allowed to bring goods and chattels without paying a tax - but you must have owned for one year

Yes, he would be liable for registration tax, but with that car it would be zero as the CO2 emissions are below 120gm.

Re: Importing a German Audi A3
Cheers Sid, that's the important bit. I was going to import my Honda CRV but the physical changes were bad enough but then I seen the import (or call it whatever you want) were stupid. Taking it on the chin, going back and bringing a Left hooker back with me. Thanks again for the help.
