We have a Hyundai Matrix & in May the aircon stopped working adequately. OH got it regassed but it was no better. He took it back only to be told a new compressor was required. As it would cost 500€, he decided to get a second opinion. Our local mechanic has checked everything...... compressor, relays, fuses, gas, condenser, thermostat..... & all working fine individually but not together.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Can't find his details. There is a chap called Chris I think, operates near Pavo Real Competa who is a specialist. Bit of searching should locate.

Re: Aircon mystery
You people are so handy . I bought a LHD vehicle on UK plates to drive down here; great car but the aircon... ATS supposedly checked for leaks, took £35 off me and it made no difference. No refund, just a pretend session with a laptop and "you need dealer reprogramming" cobblers. Next, a specialist who again said no leaks but the compressor was faulty. Replaced and recharged (more £££) it's gone from ice-cool to barely tolerable as I made my way south.
I was going to ask around if Midas' offer to check the system for free before a regas was worth trying (any input if you have experience with them still welcome) but I shall certainly make enquiries with the recommendation and link posted above. Many thanks again
