Hola
If you want to drive toll free then take the old N4 road; The N4 toll road is due to become free - but probably in 2020.

From the N4 you need to take the A381 from Jerez to Algeciras

It is possible to drive anywhere in Spain without using toll roads. Obviously it takes longer buy can be more scenic.

The A4 coming south from Seville becomes the AP4, as in Autovia Peage 4, and then you follow the signs off to Algeciras which merges you onto the A4. The N4, marked on the road signs as N IV, is signed off just before the paying part of the AP4, and takes a longer route and takes you to the west side of Jerez, then links you back to the free A4 towards Algeciras.
There is also the possibility from Jerez to take that more country road A381 - quite Scenic - avoiding the free coastal autovia, but that will take more time too.
Google maps App for your phone is worth the effort to guide you to the best route! Check if your hire car has a route planner included too?
