The laws are the same, it is just that Trafico in Andalucia are not so Brit-friendly!

Dont take everything they say (write) as gospel... It is not a government / official website.

It is IMHO far better than a government site - it is written by real active coppers, who are the ones that decide what is really legal and what is not.

Some of the information they have given has been dangerously inaccurate and contradictory. The law as interpreted by one of these people may be entirely different from the way it is interpreted by another so, as Spanish_lad said, don't take what they say as gospel.

There is a great little app called Social Drive . http://www.socialdrive.es/web/
It tells you in real time where the radar traps and police controls are. It shows accidents and even where the helicopters are. It is crowd sourced in that when you see something of interest you post the information including a map pin and it immediately goes into the site.

I would be interested to know which bits of the guide (when it is posted to the web tomorrow) are thought to be “dangerously inaccurate and contradictory”. At the end of the day what matters is what the guardi think the laws are, life being too short to spend time protesting.

Re: N322
I seem to remember that they got into a bit of a mess some time ago about changing over to Spanish licences. It was the bit about having to do it within two years. In fact, it didn't really apply to Brits as their photo licences are only valid for 10 years and the two year requirement was only applicable to licences with no expiry date. They did sort it out quickly though.

Thankyou sir. I know why i dont recomend the site, but i didnt want to go into it. Having the word of yourself and cid is good enough for me.
They may be serving officers, but im surprised that a website written in their spare time is allowed to exist and be a 'source' for all the other rip off groups / web pages that cant find their own information out.

That old favourite! Just this week I was sent a photo of an article in one of the free immigrant papers on the Costa about this; it stated that you must register your Brit licence with trafico then change it for Spanish within two years. Why are they still publishing such crap when the Spanish law is so clear?!El Cid wrote:I seem to remember that they got into a bit of a mess some time ago about changing over to Spanish licences.
