Recently I have seen a few blue rear number plates on Spanish registered cars.
What is the significance of the blue number plate?
Some have been on taxis, although the majority of taxis seem to have the normal white plate.
Some have been on what appears to be private cars, no small SP plate on them.

Re: Blue number plates
New system for taxis. A way of getting rid of illegal taxis in time.
Re: Blue number plates
I wondered if that was the case.
But, as I said, also seen blue plates on cars that don't look like taxis.
I thought they might be private hire cars but didn't have a SP plate.

Re: Blue number plates
Here in Las Palmas blue number plates indicate that the occupant is an M P or a high ranking government official.
Re: Blue number plates
I have seen some blacked out Mercedes with blue rear plates which would usually have SP on them but now have just blue rear plate. The may be just need the blue plate now. The blue plate on the white taxis is the new thing for sure to get rid of illegal taxis. I suppose you can only buy a blue plate with proof of taxi licence from a specialist company.
