Has anyone managed to find a good location for any fossils in Andalucia ? They seem to be very rare. :?:

Ẁell there are quite a few fossils to be found on this forum....

However , to be serious, over the years I have picked up quite a few, but quite high up, not much near the coast.
One of the best specimens I located, whilst metal detecting, was a really good example of a sea urchin, a bit worrying when you consider that I found it half way up a mountain. And before anyone asks...did I find it with my metal detector, the answer is no, but it was in the hole where I located a couple of Roman coins.....So much of the land has been cultivated over the centuries, I think possibly a lot of fossils have been destroyed.
A good place to ask is at the local museums, I've always found them helpful...

Quite a few in El Torcal. Apparently at one time it was under the sea
