Walk the dog Nerja

I've posted this in travel and tourism but thought I might get an answer on here!

We're going to Nerja (Burriana area) for a week with friends who have a dog-where is the best place to exercise dogs in and around the area? Are there any parks for well behaved dogs and owners? I'm presuming the beach is off limits or do people exercise their dogs there in the early morning?
Any advice from locals would be appreciated.
