VETS CHARGES
We are considering cancelling our dog insurance, had it 3 years and never used it. Does anyone know the costs of various operations eg broken leg etc etc can't decide whether to just put the money aside instead.

Hi jaycecampo,
If your insurance is only for vets bills...........then putting some aside is a good idea, if it has cover for public liability .......

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

My dog never broke a leg but both back legs were operated on to renew ligaments and a front leg had a cartilage removed and pinned until it set together. Average bill for each would be 300 euros. That was not here in Spain, my dogs vet was in Portugal.

Some women at the refuge found a dog with a severely broken leg, luckily a much bigger refuge took him on, the bill is over 1,000€ and still rising

Woops just noticed 'HIM'! Well Tina's bills are very big but she has to go to a specialist for a plate and pinning.

No, it was a ´mongrel´ I can´t remember the name, she is at a refuge close to Sevilla. Her leg is pinned, but she may still lose it.
