We have a castrated dog, who, since we
fostered female dog (last November, she is went to her new home agas ago) he has started to pee indoors. We have sprayed with the spray that Mercadona sell, waste of time! It is getting very annoying! Any suggestions as to what we can spray with to put him off peeing against the doors and sofa?
Thanks

Re: Any suggestions to stop a dog ´marking´
Is he marking or peeing?
I would take him out very often and when he pees outside shower (no pun intended) him with praise.
You can also use a tin with coins inside to shake when he looked like he might do it. It would take a couple of days following him around, but dogs get the message quite quickly. Oh and do not use ammonia products to clean as I think that smells, to them, like pee.

While you are following Unicorn's suggestion, keep the dog on a lead inside the house, so you can yank him off when he looks like lifting his leg, and hussle him outside. Go back to puppy training otherwise, so take him out after food and drinking, and aim him at a tree outside ... lots of rewards and congratulations when he gets it right!!
We had a foster dog who when he could get inside un-noticed, he would immediately mark up a wall - not nice. But leaving the lead on so we had an easy handle on him, we soon got the message through that we pee outside, not inside! The rattle helps too - a few stones in an empty beer can makes a lovely noise!! Distraction from the need to mark, and a warning, when you can't get close enough to yank the lead!
I don't think sprays do any good - cleaning doesn't seem to affect their need to mark either. But your disapproval, and treats and affection when he does pee outside will help. Let us know how you get on!
