No dogs on beaches
This in Olive Press. Dogs not allowed on. Any beach on Costa Del Sol.
http://http://www.theolivepress.es/spai ... is-summer/ considering the mess left behind by dogs with irresponsible owners it is probably a good thing

I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!
Re: No dogs on beaches
I do agree with you Steve about the irresponsible dog owners who don't 'clean up'.
From memory there has been a ban for dog walking on many tourist beaches during the summer season for quite a long time, but usually there is a designated area for dog walkers.
I don't live on the coast any more so can't comment accurately about available beaches, but I'm sure someone will know.
But in defence of the dogs I have to say that some humans should be banned also.!
When I used to do my beach metal detecting I often came across dirty nappies, sanitary towels and rubber thingies buried in the sand..Disgusting..!!
Regards,
Gordon.

Re: No dogs on beaches
Always walked our dogs on the beach at early morning and at sunset. I between it is far too hot most of the year for them. Why people stay all day on the beach with dogs is unbelievable. Some look in great discomfort. The ban could be doing the dogs a favour.
What really gets me about the dog poo issue is that it seems to be OK. for horses to drop piles all over the place here there are notices all over re. Dog fouling but often I am driving through all the horse s hit or my dog has to walk through it.

Re: No dogs on beaches
La Cala Del Moral has a dog beach. Couldn't think of anything worse than sunbathing with dogs running everywhere. Before the dog lovers get on my case I am saying the Spanish in general do not control there dogs.
Re: No dogs on beaches
It is not just the beaches that need some attention with all the loose dogs running around. I used to live in the Rincon de la Victoria area and in my neighborhood it was completely impossible to walk around at night without a flashlight so you didn't step in anything. In September it was like France.

Instead of "No dogs on beaches", why not just simplify it to "No dogs".

We have dogs, but I would not take them to a beach in the summer, it is not just the pooing- who wants to sit where a dog has not long peed?

Re: No dogs on beaches
Travelling from Bilbao next week and planning on taking the dogs onto the beach at La Arena, closest place to the ferry port, before boarding. Does anyone know if there is a dog area there?
Re: No dogs on beaches
the dog beach is at la cala del moral, 0.5km from La Arana.
Re: No dogs on beaches
I think they are asking about Bilbao.
