It could be an ordinary gull on a particular diet.

It may have eaten a blood orange.

As far as the gull, if it’s not a really bad photo where the colours are way off, it could be a gull that is common here as there have been reports of some gulls having a temporary pinkish coloration, probably caused by the food chain or secretions from their glands at certain times. But this info is very limited and could be untrue. Would have helped if the photo had been better

your having a laugh, its a good photo considering it was probably taken on a telephone. We are not all David Bailey and walk around with a 2000 euro camera on the beach.

Thanks for the replies everyone, nothing conclusive, but I would go with the diet / secretions theory. Particularly as I saw another one this morning with very pink head and wing feathers, however as it was flying away from me I couldn't see if it had the bluey green colour on its underside like the original bird.
