employment law

Postby aquaman » Mon Nov 09, 2009 9:49 pm

My daughter is 4 months into a 6 month work contract, however she is beeing treated really badly at work and would like to leave, how much notice does she have to give. She actually gets paid weekly though her contract states it is paid monthly. No mention of time of notice is in her contract.

FROM DAVID SEARL

FOR AQUAMAN

If her contract contains a clause specifying the required time to give notice, that will apply. If it does not, and many of these six-month contracts do not, then there is no legal reason why your daughter cannot collect her paycheck on Friday and then hand in her notice, stating she will not be there on Monday.

Good luck with it, David Searl
