Julian
Thanks.
I'll have another go at finding it online.
It's too foul to go out and buy the paper!

How do you know who controls which newspapers Beach?

I know that spanish people I have spoken to, quite local to these areas, either don´t know about this situation or believe that the properties must have been built without licences....they have no idea how serious this issue is and how much it affects all of them for the future.

I know that El Mundo, La Vanguardia and La Razón are right wing, ABC monarchist right wing, and El País and El Periódico are left wing.

I suppose it really comes down to your own perception by the slant on news items and the editorials.

There has been a last minute stay of execution on the Vera demolition (spanish owned) but a judge will be reviewing the demolition order next week in the light of planning changes in that area which would make this property legal under he POTALA and this seems to be the final decider.......

Still its some rational thinking I suppose

There was a vigil at the home of Len and Helen Prior last night - candles (which many who attended are quite used to) and a bonfire. Several Spanish newspapers came - La Voz de Almería, Diario de Almería and Ideal de Granada, also Canal Sur TV. So things are beginning to change.
I went on Canal Sur Radio.
The Izquierda Unida/Los Verdes party (United Left/Greens) have called for support for tomorrow, Monday's protest in Almería City. Seehttp://iualmeriaprovincia.org/cms/.
Looking good (weather permitting)!

One of the facebook links lists the councils "suspected" of corruption, I think it covers just about all of Spain! ;-)

I notice that that the Basque Country isn't on the list. And I thought Catalunia should be
Maybe the the Catalan and Basque seperatist are right and that they are not Spanish

I initially thought 'great' my council (Canillas de Aceituno) is not on the list........ but I see neither is Vinuela or Alcaucin and I believe that they have been very naughty !!

It may take up less space to list the municipalities that are not corrupt. The back of an envelope, perhaps.

There's a 2 page article in today's Times about this - nothing really new to say as far as I could see - the Smalleys (originally from Preston now Vinuela and whose home is threatened) are featured and a Forieign Office Minister Chris Bryant is quoted in September after meeting his Spanish counterpart as saying " He was keen to reassure me it was very unlikely peoples' homes would be taken down" - the Times reports though that a 9 April deadline has been set...

Brilliant. I shall have to look at UKIP in a new light. By the way, was there a response or did he just bury his head in the sand and ignore reasoned argument as usual?
