Illiteracy and the Driving Test
Our local Goat Man has got himself a van and I am sure he is Illiterate because he can't read words in a dictionary when I show it to him, neither a newspaper, and he doesn't wear glasses, so.....It poses the question...... Is it possible to get a driving Licence in Spain if you can't read and write? (or in the UK for that matter).

Perhaps he wears contact lenses.
I took a test in Spain - in Huercal Overa - when I was 18. Having gome through innumerable lessons (this in 1971) in Spanish, I was slightly surprised when the invigilator whipped out a written multiple-choice test... in English! Well, in Engrish, anyway.
Having learnt the highway code in castellano, I would have preferred to take the ordinary test.
Anyhow, I filled out the English one and then asked how I did.
The answer was truly andaluz. 'I don't know', he said, 'I can't understand English'.
The next week, I returned and took the damn thing in Spanish.
