You do not have to be married to have equal rights where health cover is concerned Zofia..so long as you can prove you are a co-habiting couple

Hi Zofia,
If you Google "proving that you are cohabiting"

Loads of interesting stuff, legal and funny................one I like, "make sure you have some underwear of your man on the washing line"

:D
All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

We got a "certificado de conviviencia" (certificate of living together) from our Ayuntamiento - took some proofs of being a couple (utility bills from UK days with same address, one name or other, and joint mortgage documents). Cost us about 2€ if I remember correctly.
I used to cough to disguise a [email protected] I f@rt to disguise a cough.

Utility bills from UK? we have utility bills here, some in his name, some in mine. I have an empadranomiento (sp?) thingy but he doesn't. We have 2 kids together too....we don't have a mortgage.

Zofia

PS. Plenty of his pants on my washing line....

You make a ' Pareja de Hecha ' declaration before a notary. Similar to a common-law relationship but with a bit of paper. Entitles non-EU citizens , in a relationship with a spaniard , to a residence card as well as everything else !
