Spanish resident,uk money transfer

Postby elusive » Wed Feb 10, 2016 7:28 pm

Are there any possible spanish legal tax issues with giving money that is in a UK account and has been declared on the 720 to a family member who is a U.K resident. Or because the money and the person getting it is in the uk then it has nothing to do with hacienda

You can gift up to 300,000 pounds sterling in the U K to a blood relative tax free.

The Spanish gift tax only applies if the asset is in Spain or if the recipient is tax resident in Spain. Neither applies in this case so Hacienda will not be interested.
