Signing As A Non-Resident

Postby Pistol Pete » Mon Jul 18, 2016 8:56 pm

I've read on a number of posts about signing as a non-resident every 2 years. How is this done, is there a specific form that needs to be completed? Are there consequences of not doing this or doing it late?

Apologies if this has been covered before, I'm coming up to 2 years for owning a property and would like to make sure everything is in place.

Hi P P,

Welcome to The Forum....... :D

The only signing on that i know of is your Bank requiring you to confirm you're still non-resident, every two years.

We had ours in the post. I am sure there was a fee last year. 25 euros springs to mind.

We bank with Sabadell and its predecessor for 10 years and as far as I can recollect have never been asked to confirm our non resident status.

Thanks for the responses

My 2 years with Unicaja is up in September so I should expect some form of correspondence!

Is it just a form to sign or do you need to produce any documents?

It's just a form to sign & return. They send 2 copies so you can keep one (I think - if not, copy it before you send it back !)

Now that costakid mentions it, I think a similar amount was debited from my account, but as they are always charging me for something,it didn't really register what it was !
